Benghazi was a diplomatic mission in Libya that was attacked on September 11th, 2012, by an unknown group that is still being investigated by American government. Where four people were killed in the attack, which included, U. S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens two former Navy Seals, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods and several others wounded.
Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was born on April 18th, 1960 who then later became a lawyer and a diplomat. Later in life, he became a U. S Ambassador to Libya from June 2012. Then on a tragic 2012, September 11th he was killed in the Benghazi consulate attack. He was the 10th United States Ambassador to Libya.
The United States Ambassador's first political service was in 1991. He joined the " United States Foreign Services." The United States Foreign Service was created in 1924 by the Rogers Act. This service combined the consular and the diplomatic services of The United States government.
Stevens was the first U. S ambassador to die in office since the 1988 air crash in Pakistan which killed Arnold Lewis Raphel.
